The "Little Lenses. Big Ideas" film festival will be held at Mornington's iconic cinemas in Main St. The competition will be open to primary and high school students from all over Australia. Entry will be free of charge. There will be prize categories for local Mornington Peninsula student filmmakers as well as for the broader school community. Entries will be managed via a website with updates available on social media. Finalists will be selected by a panel of judges and the final will include a viewing of all finalists at a Gala, red-carpet event at the Mornington Cinemas.
"Little Lenses. Big Ideas" Film festival will give students an opportunity to use their technology - phones, ipads, tablets, cameras - as vehicles for their imagination and creativity. It will challenge students to dream big, working in teams or as individuals to make a film. The festival will bring a new lease of life to Mornington's iconic Main St Cinema that has been part of the community since the 70's, ensuring it remains a place where the community can come together to enjoy films. The film festival will also provide valuable trade opportunities for the local Main St traders.
