A drop-in youth centre for Kingston and beyond

The Youth Hub in Moorabbin provides young people with substance use support, education, and help finding and keeping employment.

Local community members have identified a need for easily accessible, drop-in services where young people can receive mental health as well as alcohol and drug support. Almost one in four young people experience mental illness, however only 35% of people who need help access it.

This project will implement three mental health and substance misuse workers for drop-in times. Any young person (12-25) can drop in, speak to qualified workers, and access any support they need to live healthy, fulfilling lives.

The TaskForce Youth Hub in Moorabbin is outfitted for young people to socialise in a safe, friendly environment, and receive the support they need. But we need government and community support to ensure that we can provide mental health support, and can stay open for drop-in times, making it easier for young people to seek help.

By having drop-in services available, this project will fill a gap in other nearby services. All young people in Moorabbin and beyond will be able to benefit from drop-in services at the Hub, ensuring everyone is able to access any support they need.
