The Carlton public housing community will use the bus for various activities. This will include taking elderly residents on day trips, members of the African community to the market, young people to soccer tournaments, women to camps and on excursions, families to medical appointments and Baptists to Church activities

At the moment, the Carlton public housing community relies on a very old Church owned bus that does not have air conditioning and is almost impossible for anyone with a disability to utilise due to its design. Lack of access to transports options leads to already socially disadvantaged residents of the local community facing further social exclusion and isolation. A functional community bus would facilitate access to social programs that will enable greater health and wellbeing a reduction in loneliness for disadvantaged Carlton residents.
