The weekend will begin with Friday night at the hotel, where walkers are registered, transport is organised and there will be a showing of the film ‘ Pride'. Saturday morning will involve walkers assembling and being transported in buses with a 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert’ theme. The walk will have a variety of lengths and finish at Pine Plains Lodge where walkers will be able to savor various local bush tucker recipes. People can then return to see the football on the big screen and an unveiling of the adjacent shop, which has been painted rainbow colors.

The benefits will be far-reaching and inclusive of Mallee and gay people community. The Mallee people are keen to dispel the concept that they are conservative and homophobic. They know that in the past anyone that was not heterosexual suffered rejection and a lack of understanding. As a group they want to welcome the LGBTQI community to their wonderful landscapes and share their quintessential piece of Australia. The social and economic benefits will be phenomenal as local schools, community groups and businesses gain income and establish an ongoing a tradition of an annual family fun activity.

Fantastic idea, after recently completing the Mad Dog Morgan Walk thru the area recently I can assure everyone this park is one of Australias hidden gems. The outback on your doorstep with characters to match the Dundee movie. Checkout the pub, the art the VIBE. Great to see a small community thinking about the bigger piture welcoming the RAINBOW crowd.
