Our Scout Hall has served the community well for 35 years. We have been able to introduce scouting to generations of families and have provided a venue for social events and for other businesses throughout the community, including many years of use and support by the 4WD club. It is in urgent need of repair. We have asbestos in the building, floors that are riddled with white ants, old and dishevelled toilets and no disabled access. Improving facilities will allow more generations of families to enjoy the facilities. The funds will allow us to modernise our loved building.
Melton South is a growth corridor with young families. With a modern Scout Hall we will offer more opportunities for young children in a non-electronic environment with an emphasis on outdoor education. We cater for all children, developing the head and the heart regardless of ability. Leadership and social skills are developed from ages 6 to 26. Parent helpers and adult leadership roles offer opportunities for those community minded to participate. An upgraded scout hall would provide a safe environment for all these children and adult volunteers, as well as an opportunity for the wider community to be involved.

I Was in scouts for nearly 20 years and I know how hard it is to raise money. I sincerely hope this project gets picked so the tradition of scouting can continue well into the future.

This is a well disearved application the Hall is long overdue for renovation this scout group is a great asset to the Melton community keeping kids off the streets learning great life skills but the facility is not up to standard to do this .
