Umbrella Dementia Cafes completes project
Umbrella Dementia Cafes completed its project in February 2020.
The project delivered 19 community cafe meetings across community houses in the eastern suburbs for people living at home with dementia and their carers. The meetings were facilitated by a social worker and provided a safe and social environment where people can meet others in a similar situation. The sessions fostered feelings of independence and belonging and demonstrated to carers how to stay connected to their loved one living with dementia.
