Roadside Garbage Detection completes project
Roadside Garbage Detection completed its project in March 2020.
The project created a process using Artificial Intelligence using vehicle-borne sensors to take images of roads and the surrounds in Wyndham. AI detects any waste, fallen trees or road ditches and sends the images to council members. The project has helped to detect 2,342 potholes, 407 debris, 304 water-over roads, 124 damaged traffic signs, 402 rubbish sites, 168 building waste, 109 household furniture, 95 abandoned trolleys and 353 plastic-tyre-bottles locations over five months.
