Many Hands: Empowering Refugee Women completes project
Many Hands: Empowering Refugee Women completed its project in December 2019.
The project ran hospitality training programs for women from refugee backgrounds facing barriers to employment. At the end of each program, participants gained paid experience hosting a ticketed community dinner. Participants gained a greater awareness of how to find work in Australia, the skills needed to find work in hospitality and events, increased self-confidence, and improved feelings of belonging and connectedness. Many Hands are continuing their program into 2020.
