Closing the Loop; Community Food Waste to nutrient rich compost completed its project in March 2020.
The project purchased a commercial-sized closed-loop unit which turns food waste into compost in Apollo Bay. The project has created a broader conversation around waste consumption and the sustainable use of resources. Usage of single-use packaging has decreased and there's been an increase in reusables, recycling and diverting organic waste to composting.
