Brunswick Food Forest: Growing Strong Communities completes project
Brunswick Food Forest: Growing Strong Communities completed its project in January 2020.
The project turned Warr Park in Brunswick into a free Food Forest for the community. The forest has fruit and nut trees, vegetable gardens, a children's play garden and a coffee cart run by volunteers. Park users have been feasting on organically grown fruit, vegetables and herbs. Childcare centres have been showing children how food is grown, and various workshops have been offered to the community. The Food Forest has provided opportunities for the community to come together, especially for the volunteers who maintain the site.
