Ballarat-Sebastopol BMX Track Surfacing Upgrade completes project
Ballarat-Sebastopol BMX Track Surfacing Upgrade completed its project in December 2019.
The project upgraded the BMX track to be an all-weather surface track, the first of its kind in Victoria. Before the upgrade, it was unsafe to ride on during higher rainfall months. Now, riders can safely train and compete in all weather conditions. A reduction in track maintenance has allowed the club to hold more events and led to increased memberships. The track encourages locals of all ages to be active and get outdoors. The new surface is attracting BMX riders and clubs from around the state for large scale events, bringing in more customers to local Ballarat businesses.
